{"id":9604,"date":"2018-12-23T16:21:26","date_gmt":"2018-12-23T16:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/comchurch.org.uk\/?p=9604"},"modified":"2018-12-23T16:21:26","modified_gmt":"2018-12-23T16:21:26","slug":"christmas-is-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elegant-germain.77-68-99-159.plesk.page\/index.php\/2018\/12\/23\/christmas-is-light\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas is Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"s6\"><span class=\"s4\">I think every year most people have a \u201cChristmas is soon\u201d moment<\/span><span class=\"s5\">; t<\/span><span class=\"s4\">hat moment when something triggers in our subconscious mind that reinforces the fact that the season is upon us<\/span><span class=\"s5\">. <\/span><span class=\"s4\">For me it hits home when <\/span><span class=\"s5\">I <\/span><span class=\"s4\">hear the song &#8220;Driving Home For Christmas&#8221; by Chris Rea. <\/span><span class=\"s5\">It&#8217;s<\/span><span class=\"s4\"> a great picture song that captures the imagination, especially if we hear it while drivin<\/span><span class=\"s5\">g. One <\/span><span class=\"s4\">line says &#8220;<\/span><span class=\"s5\">I<\/span><span class=\"s4\"> see red lights all around me<\/span><span class=\"s5\">\u201d. W<\/span><span class=\"s4\">e all identify with sitting in traffic, maybe on a motorway trying to get home to our family<\/span><span class=\"s5\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s6\"><span class=\"s4\">This song for me switches on a light of Christmas awareness and reminds me of Jesus being born, so that one day He would take my place on the cross to die for my sins, something we celebrate at Easter<\/span><span class=\"s5\">. <\/span><span class=\"s4\">Without Christmas there could be no Easter and without Easter there is no need for Christmas. Like me, you may have experienced driving subconsciously while thinking of other things, arriving at your destination with little memory of the journey. Many people go through Christmas like that, completely unaware of the Christ in Christmas<\/span><span class=\"s5\">.<\/span><span class=\"s4\"> I pray that the light of Christmas switches on in our hearts and minds this Christmas so we can fully know the child who became our Saviour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\">\n<p class=\"s8\"><span class=\"s4\">In the song, Chris Rea says &#8220;I take a look at the driver next to me, he&#8217;s just the same<\/span><span class=\"s5\">\u201d. <\/span><span class=\"s4\">This paints a picture of us all heading in the same direction because of Christmas. As Christians we are all heading in the same direction, not just home for Christmas but eventually home for eternity. If you&#8217;re reading this and you&#8217;re not sure that you are on that road, then why not look to Jesus this Christmas and join us on our journey home<\/span><span class=\"s5\">; <\/span><span class=\"s4\">there&#8217;s plenty of room in the <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Father&#8217;s<\/span><span class=\"s4\"> house.
